I’ve been waiting and waiting for this day, for oh so long! We’ve had a sort of count down on FaceBook, trying to get everyone pumped up! And here it is… our first challenge!
To recap, the rules:
Projects can be anything but a card. (Hence the name… get it? ha.) That means, a door hanger, bookmark, wrapping paper, art journaling, smashing, candles, altered arts, home decor projects, etc. There is only ONE limit… cards. I almost said “hard limit.”

Now remember, if you want to participate in the challenge to win the prize and be a guest designer, featured on the Anything But A Card blog and FaceBook page, you’ll need to add “GDT” after your name in the linky tool at the bottom. I’ve gone ahead and entered my personal blog as the first entry as an example. Please, if you have questions, ASK… OR check out the challenge and rules explained HERE.

Betty writes: “I started Simply B Stamps for fun, I never imagined I’d have a following let alone “fans”… I have always loved drawing, of course I had no idea how to create a digi. I had no clue how to make a rubber stamp, but where there’s a will there’s a way. When I first started SBS I had to hire artists, because I had NO clue on how to make said digis or stamps. I had no clue about Photoshop, about Illustrator nothing. After a few months of research, and tutorials, books and etc. about how to I finally learned how to! Whoop! I took over everything. I love to draw, love the dark but quirky. I find that I can’t seem to do just CUTESY! As much as I do love some cutesy stuff out there, when I sit to draw what comes out onto my paper are always quirky and different. I also have immortalize my family in my characters. All my main Characters (Teen Scenes and Jude and the Rockers) are inspired by real people in my life. My kids Rio, Christian, and Jude. My husband and myself, and of course family friends like Miller and London. Lola is actually after a dear friend from my childhood that passed when we were teenagers. I am completely obsessed with Halloween, but what fun for everyone else would it be if I only did Halloween right? I hope to inspire, share, and grow with all the wonderful people I have met online. I hope to continue to let my art blossom and grow with SBS…one day I hope to take over the crafting world..watch out Martha Stewart! HA HA HA HA I joke of course

The response has been awesome, and I can’t wait to get the challenges up and going! Before we can do that, you need to know how things are going to work around here. It will be a little different than most challenge blogs, so it’s really important that you understand how to participate, and the benefits available to you!
First things first. This is a challenge blog. There will be semi monthly challenges, semi-monthly meaning, the 1st and the 15th of each month. The only real change you have is to create ANYTHING BUT A CARD.
Just to recap: challenge = anything but a card.
I don’t want to limit you to certain colors, photos, patterns, etc. I want you to feel inspired to create a project without limitations. So there have to be a few rules…

The fun part!
We have a lot of really great companies lined up to sponsor Anything But A Card’s challenges for the rest of 2012- that’s eight different companies, eight different challenges. LOTS of opportunity to win more than $500 in prizes!
For each challenge you have the choice to participate in a few different ways. The first way is to participate for fun, with the opportunity to be featured as our *very creative* entry. We all love to have fun, right!? So, you can participate for fun. OR you can participate with the hope of winning the loot, the gold, the grand prize! BUT, winning the grand prize comes with a big responsibility. As the grand prize winner, you will be featured as a guest designer for Anything But A Card! As a guest designer, you’ll have to use the products you won from the sponsor. (or other products you may have from the company who sponsored the challenge). You’ll be featured on our blog, FaceBook page, as well as Twitter and Instagram! If you want to participate to be a guest designer, you’ll need to mention that in your blog post, or by adding “GD” after your name in the link tool.
How does that sound? Exciting! I know it’s different than most challenges, but, I’m hoping it’ll work out! Here’s your chance to ask questions if you have any! Just leave them here in our comment section and I’ll be sure to answer them ASAP!
